The Wall...

Since I have moved away from home, I have always lived in places with white walls....
When Denver and I moved to Heber, the first thing I asked my landlord was, "Can I paint the walls?" When he said yes... I was a one-track mind woman on a mission. Every time I had the chance to talk to Denver about what colors to paint in the different rooms, I would. At first, he was really excited about it. And of course, being Denver, he would analyze every detail... "well, these colors give a feeling of happiness, and these colors give a feeling of calmness, etc." After a while though, I was tired of talking about it and just wanted to do it. When it came down to doing, Denver seemed to have changed his mind. He didn't want to risk getting any on the carpet, he didn't like the idea of painting one wall, etc. So, of course, being a Kane woman, those excuses weren't going to work for me. I had made up my mind, and we were painting.
In the beginning of November, Denver went to shoot a wedding video in San Diego (which looks amazing by the way... www.hdcinematicfilms.com... Lauren and Kirk's video). Anyway, an opportunity presented itself. Denver was gone for an entire weekend and couldn't tell me no. So, Katie and I went to work. Saturday morning after I dropped Denver off at the airport, I immediately called Katie. We went to this second hand store in Heber and were inspired with really cute ideas. I bought an old suitcase... the upholstery was SO cool! I thought I would for sure find a place to use it. I also bought some vinyl... it is now hanging in my living room.. it looks sweet. After the second hand store, we were off to Latimer Hardware. I browsed through paint colors until finally stumbling across "spicy curry". The color was awesome and Katie and I were sold. I also bought some spray paint and Katie gave me frames so we could spray paint fun colors. Anyway, after babbling forever.... here is what we came up with!!!

I LOVE the Spicy Curry!

This is what I did with the upholstery from the old suitcase!

I took scrapbook paper and framed that too...

As you can see, the spray paint we bought was fire engine red, lime green, and Dr. Seuss blue... I think it looks rad. The blue in this red frame is the back side of the suitcase upholstery.

The Gundog looks so fine against the orange! Doesn't the orange of the wall really bring out the color of his eyes? ha ha

LOVE IT!!! Of course I do have a strong love of orange. I shopped with Kelley this weekend and the IKEA and loaded up on some fab orange fabric.
